Clear and Powder Coating
Automated Wheel understands the importance of a protective wheel coating and we have invested heavily in pre-treatment and coating line automation.
We have selected an acrylic clear coating that meets the most stringent operating specifications of our customers. Our acrylic clear coat maximizes the brilliant appearance of the aluminum as well as protects the aluminum from environmental types of corrosion.
Pre-treatment Process
Before any clear or powder coat is applied to our wheels they must traverse through a five-stage washer and a 14-stage pre-treatment conveyorized chamber.
Clear and Powder Coating Process
After coating, the wheels enter an automated five-zone humidity and temperature controlled oven, calibrated for precise curing. The coating is cured for protection against galvanic reaction, filiform and environmental corrosion.
Masking templates are put in place prior to coating for areas that require a different surface treatment or multi-color effect.
